All the world is our stage.
The Printed Stage is an ongoing project that grew out of the covid pandemic in 2021. After years of creating interactive activities for projects in museums and galleries, during the pandemic friends and family started asking me for copies to entertain themselves during lockdowns. I decided to reformat my back catalogue and share these projects more broadly via a dedicated Etsy page.
Although presented on a commercial platform, The Printed Stage was never about huge profits. It is about sharing bespoke engagement activities with those who would otherwise not be able to access them. This includes families with kids stuck inside on a rainy day, schools desperate for fresh teaching aids, community theatres who need props, crafters in need of templates, art centres with limited budgets, or people who just want to throw a cool dress up party.
Since this project began, I have been approached by museums, art centres and teachers around the world, who have commissioned engagement packages for exhibitions, classrooms and art trails. The agreement is always the same, I take a fee for the production of new content with the understanding that resources will be de-branded and made available via Etsy for a fraction of the price.
The Printed Stage began as a playful attempt to share joy in dark times. It has become a serious project about engagement and participation. One that encourages diverse communities to embrace authorship through storytelling and challenge traditional power structures while they do so.
The Printed Stage international partners include:
Ngununggula, Australia
Mosman Art Gallery, Australia
Whitstable Oyster Festival, UK
Materials for Learning
Our resources are designed to make life easier for teachers and educators who want to add pizazz to their activities. Perhaps your school play needs a revamp, or your classroom a makeover or you need a fun activity about fish? These printable resources include scenery, props and costumes you can make with your students.
Bespoke Museum Activities
We work with museums around the world to create unique engagement activities. These activities are created on commission for a specific institution and then reformulated and made available at a much lower price on our Etsy page for organisations that may not have the funds to commission their own activity packs.
Support for Families
Whether you need activities for a rainy day, crafty fun for a child stuck at home with a broken leg, or part favours for a birthday party - we have lots of fun printable activities for you to choose from!
Creative Workshops
We create bespoke education programs for children and adults that combine art, theatre and digital storytelling. These fun and engaging workshops are held in arts centres, educational organisations, children’s hospitals and theatres.
